Expired or first time students

It is recommended that any student with an expired card take the full provider course.  However, you do have the option of taking the renewal course under the provisions set forth by the American Heart Association's expired card protocol if your card is expired less than six (6) months. The provisions for us are as follows:

  1. You are responsible for passing this course so be prepared and study for ACLS and/or PALS.
  2. You must present your expired card at the time of class.  If you do not have your card, you will have to reschedule your class.
  3. You must complete all written and skills tests with a passing grade on your first attempt.  Remediation is not an option.  If you do not pass the testing on the first try, you will be required to take the full provider course at an additional cost for the initial provider course price at any location that provides full courses.
  4. If you do not pass a class, you will not be entitled for a refund.
  5. You must bring in your pre course completion certificate. If you do not have your certification you will have to reschedule your class.
  6. This AHA policy is open to any student without a current card including first time students.
